The Heritage
You’ll notice the attention we’ve paid to environmental integrity at Windmill Harbour. With its environmentally-friendly channel concept, waterfront homes have direct access by boat to Lac Ste. Anne.
Windmill Harbour is part of the Lac Ste. Anne community that is rich with history. Click here to read more about the history of the local area.

The Habitat
The development is unique in that none of the homes will be constructed along the lakeshore - instead, all homes will be constructed inland to preserve the neighbouring grebe nesting site. A conservation area has been set up with a protected nature path and bird watching site to keep people and domestic animals away from the shoreline nesting areas. Since the project was first proposed in 1999, the developer has worked closely with regulatory agencies including Lac Ste. Anne County, Alberta Environment, Alberta Sustainable Resource Development, Environment Canada and Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
